No One Talks About the Mom Who’s Just Trying to Survive
Everyone talks about the milestones.
The first steps, the first words, the first foods.
But no one talks about the moms.
The mom who hasn’t eaten a full meal sitting down in days.
The mom who cries in the bathroom just to reset.
The mom who Googles “is it normal to feel like I don’t exist anymore?”
We celebrate the baby growing…
But what about the woman unraveling quietly in the background?
I don’t think I’m a bad mom. I think I’m just an exhausted one.
I show up every day. I clean sticky floors. I pour cereal. I say “you’re safe, baby” even when I don’t feel safe in my own body.
And some days, I feel so damn overstimulated that even the sound of my name makes my skin crawl.
So if you’re here, and you’re feeling like you’re barely holding it together — I want you to know:
You’re not crazy. You’re not broken. You’re not alone.
You’re a human being who’s constantly giving without getting to exhale.
And you deserve softness, too.
That’s why I started writing it all down. Not perfectly. Not beautifully. Just honestly.
I created The Overstimulated Mama Journal because I needed somewhere to put it all. Somewhere that didn’t require me to be anything other than tired and trying.
If that’s you too — I see you. This space is for us.
💗 Take one deep breath. You made it here. That counts.
